Democratic Party candidate for the US Senate Jon Ossoff said that Donald Trump’s call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger was an attack on voters and democracy, speaking outside a polling station in Atlanta on Tuesday.

"It’s a direct attack on Georgia voters, a direct attack on the democratic process," said Ossoff at the press briefing, adding that while the US is going through an important health crisis, President Trump is solely interested in reversing the US presidential election outcome.

According to reports, Trump pressured Raffensperger and other state officials to ‘find 11,780 votes’ in the state’s presidential election to make him the winner on an hour-long phone call on Saturday.

Ossoff also urged the need to distribute the 2,000 dollars (€1,626) stimulus cheques as economic aid and called for a faster COVID-19 vaccine rollout.

Two runoff elections in Georgia on Tuesday decide which party controls the Senate and what influence President-elect Joe Biden will have on the legislative body. Democratic Party candidates Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock are running against Republican Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue.

A record 3 million voters cast their ballots before the early voting ended on January 1.

As a Republican I am a conservative but have a little libertarian leanings. I about 80% a Trump supporter. I agree with him most of the time but as I am a person that thinks for himself I don't go along with him just because he is the President. I am not like liberals that think their candidates are Gods and never wrong.
