An activist fell from a tree on Sunday morning, during a protest against the clearing of the Dannenrod Forest and the construction of a motorway in the German state of Hesse.
Police and emergency officers could be seen helping the woman and taking her away. The severity of the activist’s injuries is not clear.
According to Hesse police, officers saw the woman falling from a height between three and four metres (10 and 13 feet) and immediately provided first aid. According to activists, the woman reportedly fell because rescue workers cut her makeshift safety rope made of tree trunks.
Environmental activists have been occupying the Dannenrod Forest for more than a year to protest the construction of the new section of the A49 autobahn linking North and Central Hesse.
