Evergreen is located in the Rocky Mountains 19 miles west of Denver, Colorado at 7,220 feet (2,200 meters). Evergreen Lake is a lovely public lake and park in Evergreen, with stunning panoramic views of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Highway 74 runs south from Interstate 70 through Bergen Park and North Evergreens to downtown, then turns east and follows Bear Creek Canyon to the end of Highway 8 near Red Rock Park. Evergreen Lake House, located in the park, is a community center that provides rental services for private special events and becomes an ice skating center within months of the opening of the ice skating lake.

Evergreen is surrounded by Danfoss Park and thousands of acres of land in Jefferson County. You can typically see road bikes all over town, mountain bikers and joggers on Elk Meadow, fly fishing in Upper Bear Creek, bird watching and boating on Evergreen Lake. July-Evergreen Jazz Festival is a three-day traditional jazz festival, located in a beautiful mountain view, with nearly a dozen bands and many hospitable venues. Evergreen Lake Near Downtown Evergreen

While winter in Evergreen Colorado offers epic skiing and secluded bonfire nights, in my opinion, spring and summer are the best times of the year to enjoy Colorado. February – Evergreen Lake Winter Festival – held in February. Activities include skiing and snowboarding, ice bike racing, ice fishing derby, ice skating, family activities and an open-air brewery. Open, Village and Fireworks Night. Mid-September is the best time to explore Evergreen and Colorado and enjoy the spectacular autumn scenery.

It is a popular holiday destination for old Hollywood celebrities, including Greta Garbo and Teddy Roosevelt. From the Evergreen Parkway on the stagecoach, drive to Greystone Road to Witter Gulch Road, bypassing Upper Bear Creek Road. In winter, the temperature at Evergreen will drop several times below zero.

Short Day Trip From Denver and Bouder

This is a great day trip in the mountains. In the historic city center, you will find delightful shopping venues, first-class restaurants, live music performances and great leisure venues at Evergreen Lake, as well as many local mountain trails. For many years, there have been dance halls, churches and pharmacies on the walls of Little Bear. Bear Creek follows a paved road from the city center to Evergreen Lake.
